Help Hospitalized Veterans Supports Creative Expression as Therapeutic Tool
October 5, 2009
Help Hospitalized Veterans (HHV), the largest supplier of therapeutic arts and crafts to our nations VA and military hospitals is once again a proud sponsor of the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival being held in San Antonio, Texas from October 5 - 11, 2010.
"Since 1971, our mission has been to support VA in their rehabilitative efforts through therapeutic arts & crafts as well as direct support of the VA's national rehabilitation special events," said HHV President and CEO Mike Lynch. "The Festival is near and dear to my heart as well as the hearts of our donors," added Lynch.
Many of the veterans who won local and regional competitions to qualify for this national event got their artistic start completing HHV arts & crafts while hospitalized in a VA or military hospital. Whether for improving fine motor skills or working on a craft kit as a tool to relieve stress, anxiety or boredom, the arts & crafts are helping to improve the quality of life for our nation's sick and wounded hospitalized veterans."
